When "cheating" accusations started, Zynga put out a statement that using a bot was against the TOS of the games and that anyone using one would be banned or whatever. Tons of people that had been using it, stopped out of fear of being shut out of the game. At that moment, all the building materials, etc... that the snaggers had been posting, dried up and the games almost died. It was awful.

It is simple logic. When someone snags, they build faster and post more materials in quanity. I know from experience that there are usually 3 pop-ups or more per interaction with a build. The snaggers were posting tons and tons of stuff, for EVERYONE to enjoy, not just snaggers. There were MORE items available on the feed, not less.

Also important to note is that FB allows you to specify your post to only one person. THAT is the reason you don't get those great trees or whatever, it is because the person posting it, put it for only their mom to see or whatever. This has nothing to do with the snag bar.

Lastly, the people I know that use it are mostly working folks that do not have the opportunity to sit all day to watch the feed to "get the good stuff". By the time they get home, everything is gone. It is pretty obvious that the ones complaining of cheating are the ones that previously had a corner on the market with time on their hands.

So bottom line for me is:

With GU, there are more items on the feed. Working folks get a shot at good stuff too. Saves time and if I had my druthers, I would only have GU people as neighbors. It is playing smart, not cheating. Take a look at the people complaining: they make no bones about the fact that their haul has been reduced and they want it back. It is not for some convoluted moral argument. It is selfishness. And I find that ironic. I cannot steal what was never yours to begin with. Get it?

i am no bully, I just can't stand the spam. I personally think that is why people do not like this. 20 likes and comments in under 10 seconds is incredably annoying. I am not about to delete or report someone for using this, it's their life, their choice, but I would appreciate if this app did not have to automatically comment on everything I post

I am not sure if you're aware of the fact that Gamers Unite! is a social network game community site where people share their tips or talk about the latest feature or news on their favorite social network games. Our site's aim is for everybody to help each other to succeed or advance successfully in Facebook games. The Gamers Unite! Application being referred to in the message is NOTHING more than Facebook Connect, a Facebook created system Websites can use to link their site to people's Facebook Profile. This allows Websites like GU! to have a membership without having to maintain their own member list. Instead, Facebook maintains the member list. Facebook Connect is the SAME EXACT SYSTEM that Zynga uses for their Forums.

The Snag Bar that Gamers Unite! offers is a completely separate download that members must manually click on in order to install. In addition, the Snag Bar only works with FarmVille and FronteriVille. There is no programming within the bar to work with any other game. In addition, the only access the Snag Bar has is to the user's own News/Games Feed. It cannot access anyone else's News/Games Feed, Profile Wall, or settings. It also cannot access anyone's farm, mafia order, cafe, zoo, pet store, or any other game. But if you feel you must delete me, then please, go ahead. But before you remove any of your "friends" from your lists, I ask you to actually go to the site and take a look for yourself to see what it's about. I just posed this on my wall after seeing two or three gaming friends threaten to do a clean sweep of everyone using the GU app. No one ever actually gets rid of me, mostly its just grandstanding, but I couldn't help poking a little fun at my uptight neighbors, LOL.

"To all my gaming friends with a vacuum cleaner... if you do not get rid of your vacuum cleaner, I will have to delete you. I don't want to, but I just don't think its fair that you use a machine to pick up all the specks from your floor when other people are picking them up by hand. Using a bot like that is cheating. What if someone else wanted the crumbs on your floor? When you use a vacuum, you're not giving anyone else a chance to collect those crumbs! I'll be going through all my friends homes and if you have one, you're gone... CHEATER!"

I joined GU and was initially opposed to using the Snag Bar, BUT when you consider that there are others who use "bots" and "scripts" to play Cafe World, Mafia Wars and Farmville--it balances out. My one gripe with GU and Snag Bar is that it REFUSES to provide a plug-in for Safari--the first browser to provide the WebKit that Firefox, TenFour and Chrome borrowed. That said, the new "1-click bonus" is outrageously clever on a 5gb Quad-Core Mac running Safari.

One misconception about the Snag Bar is that non-friends will grab your bonuses, which is not true. In fact, even Zynga will not allow you to send gifts, rewards or help to non-friends, so you have to be 'linked' to someone to see the feed to do Snagging. That's why the ADD ME for Cafe World, Farmville and Mafia Wars forums are so vital for GU-hardcore players. The gift exchange kind of drags with all the quests that Zynga is generating--competing with the Evony, WoW, and MMPORG's that introduced the concept of bonuses for finishing quests [hated by casual players everywhere--loved by the regulars].

I just started playing last night and a friend told me to install the GU and I did. I'm not getting tons of stuff and very few animals, but am getting some building materials and some baby trees that I need.

When I started playing and went to the Farmville forums "Add Me" , noticed a lot of folks had it listed in their ads that they didn't want cheaters. So I skipped them.

I need trees and animals and building materials and when I tried to grab them on my own, I always got the message that somebody else had already claimed it, even it it had just been out for 1 second.

If GU is a cheat, then so is people buying stuff with farm cash that us poor people can't afford. The game doesn't give enough farm cash to do anything with.

I am a gu user BUTT!!!.. #1 I only use chrome version.. #2 I have a SERIOUS issue with tools that constantly scan the wal every second or 2 for stuff. When a snag bar can grab something thats posted in less then 2 sec after its posted THAT IS CHEATING!!! Its not possible for 99% of folks to refresh and find each new post that quickly. and then those that do this almost NEVER click "like" cause the snag bars don't do that...

Technically snagbar is cheating. IT gives you an advantage. Even though GU and the snagbag are powered by Facebook connect it still gives you an advantage. Therefore it is a technical cheat.

I don't wish to "inflame" the issue one way or another. As it's stated, it's my choice, and it's the choice of other people to decide to remove me or not. What I will say, is that there are a lot of fish in the sea. If someone wants to ban me for being a member of GU solely based on the snag feature, or the rumors, and lies, there are 10 to replace them either via my already existing friends network, OR via one of the many add-me forums around. people are entitled to having their own opinions... i would HOPE they make "educated" decisions, but again... it's not up to me. I'm happy to remove people for getting in my face for being a member of this community. I for one LOVE the 1-click features... I used to spend hours just collecting what people were SENDING me. Thank you GU.

i love the snag bar but i never get any animals

I have a person send me a private message asking me if I was one of those stealers that used Gamers, because if I was, he was going to delete me. I just sent back: do you? and he wrote back: No you do. and so I wrote him back and told him that I was not stealing, that I helped more people with gifts than I ever got and that this was my game and I would play it the way I choose and he or anyone else can delete me that wants to. I will not tell them how to use their facebook/farmville and they would not tell me. I posted a notice to all on my facebook and gave all of them a choice to delete me if they wanted because I would not quit using gamers unite. I told them there were other snag bars out there and I also added that most of my friends were invited from gamers and that I thought I would be fine with the neighbors that remained. I only lost one neighbor and that was the one that sent the message and I deleted him. sometimes my snag bar works, and sometimes it does not. don't know why, but I will not lie to keep a neighbor. And it is no ones business but mine.

@Karen, why the hell do you even come here if all you're going to do is criticize GU users? You bitchers and moaners got the limits by your constant complaining LOL As for snag bar users grabbing everything from the feed, it's faster when you snag manually, do your research before you come here spewing garbage. :/

I've been de-friended by one neighbour, but seriously, he was well over level 100 when he added me and I'd been on level 43 for what felt like ages, so when he messaged me asking if I use GU Snag Bar I said that I do, and he asked me my opnion on using it and I replied that it is up to the individual. If they choose to use it, good on them, if they choose not to use it, good on them! And as I said, he deleted me..... Was I sad? No. Was I disappointed? A little, as I value my neighbours... however, it was HIS choice to believe I was cheating, where as I do not, nor do I believe it IS cheating. Afterall people, it IS just a GAME.. I just don't understand the whole big debate honestly. Some of us have lives and don't have the time to sit around staring at our feeds just to get a head in a game. I play to relax and have fun not to be accused of being a cheater for using a tool that can do the same thing I could if I sat behind a computer screen all day everyday. Does that make the non GU users that can be around all day cheaters because they're online constantly and can snag things while I'm out spending time with my children? I just don't see the issue I only run the snag bar when I'm online and it's not like I'm leveling any faster than normal but the snag bar at least gives me a chance to grab a few of the items and such that I may need in order to finish buildings and whatnot that would normally take me days to get. So GO SNAG BAR!

I just got accused of cheating the other day and I had no idea what they were talking about. Something about coming up on some cheat list. I do not cheat and if and when the games get that serious its time to call it quits. I play for fun and because it takes my mind off of everyday problems. I do have the bar but its to do the 1 click thing so i dont have to do it manually .

I am on dial-up. I signed onto this because I couldn't get any rewards because everyone on broadband or high speed internet got them before I could due to connection speed. Does this mean that anyone on high speed internet is cheating because they can get to the rewards faster? Come on people, put some sugar on those sour grapes.

I'm trying to be nice. I know that alot of you dissagree with my views. It's not that it's cheating. It is the fact that the person using the GU snag bar that gives other fair players a big disadvantage because it grabs the items off of the feed before others even have the opportunity. The other problem is that they never click the like button or leave a thank you comment after they receive a bonus. We could all use better manners, it gives the gifter and the reciever a good fealing of satisfaction.

Anyway Farmville has changed a few things because of these snag bars. They only let you claim so many items from the feed and then shut you down from collecting any more bonuses and send you a message that you have claimed all the bonuses you can for the day. LOL!!! So use your GU snag bar for all I care. It just won't be as effective in collecting very many bonuses anymore. I swear people are so greedy and just can't play fair. Why would you want to cheat anyway? Whats the fun of cheating? I really don't understand it. When we all play fair it makes the game alot more fun and competitive. But I guess it takes all kinds. I'm not harrassing or bullying anyone. I just wanted to post how some people on my side of the farm fence feel. It's all in good fun. After all it is a game people. Oh, yeah people that don't like the idea that you use the GU snag bar have the same rights as you do and CAN DELETE YOU!
And for the girl who insulted me for saying this ("Geez, the older people are the more pathetic they are with threats!" from: Leah Nikolic) I'm an older person, I play the game fair and I do not threaten people. I think you need to do some growing up and be respectfull to your elders. That was a bully thing of you to say about older people. I have no beef with you. I just want to have a fair and ballanced conversation like adults do.

@Pat Rimmer - People don't stop to think about de-neighboring someone before de-friending. We think that de-friending someone cuts all connections, and in some ways it does. Once you were de-friended, your posts stopped showing up on his News/Games Feed. He would have to manually go to your Profile Wall in order to see what you have posted. And even that would be determined by how you have set your Privacy Settings.

I just had this posted in my messages: " You came up on my gamers unite check page.... What's up with that? Please tell me it's not true. I hate to have to delete you from my list." Well he deleted me from his friend page, but he is still listed as a neighbor so can he still get all the gifts I post on Facebook page? I mean if you are taking me off as a friend why would you still want my gifts. I was sorry to see him go because he plays several games that I play and he was a good neighbor and crew member.
